Sun Moon #8 Assamica
An Assamica tea with some history, this strain has been grown in Taiwan for a long time. Originally from Jaipur in India, it has been grown in Taiwan for many decades and it was one of the parents of the famous Ruby 18 cultivar.
This Sun-Moon-Lake-area Assamica is strong, creamy and recognizable. If you like the Assamica's typical flavors (think Lipton) then this carefully crafted, high-quality version of that style of black tea brings a beautiful depth and creaminess often lacking in the other, lower-quality versions of black tea made with this cultivar.
If there was one tea on the site that would be perfect with a little cream and sugar added to it, it would be this one!

**On a recent sourcing trip to the area that Ruby 18 was first developed, the Sun Moon Lake Area, we stumbled across an organic farm that was growing the father, and mother of Ruby 18 side by side with it. We were offered the chance to try them together and it was so useful and fun that we decided to offer the same experience to everyone. You can try them all together here.
