After years of searching we have finally found some tea ware deserving space on the Mountain Stream Teas website. We couldn’t be happier!
Made from the clay on which the studio is built, only Master Zhuang uses this earth to make pottery. The clay material is meticulously prepared on site and is absolutely unique. The site was used in the past to make bricks in the Japanese era and has only recently begun to be used again. All works are hand thrown and one of a kind.
These cups are thick, heavy and beautiful. Holding about 200ml of liquid, we enjoy them as functional works of art and love how they impact the taste of our teas. The difference in taste that the glazed vs unglazed bowls impart into the tea is quite a lot of fun, if you are into that type of thing of course.
Great for contemplative bowl brewing and two handed sipping, we have been enjoying this style of drinking tea ever since these bowls arrived in the shop. It is very aesthetically pleasing!
Due to the extra weight and size of this tea ware we have to charge extra for shipping so we can keep these beautiful pieces safe in transport. The extra is included in the price.
**With this test run we have a total of 3 cups. If you would like more please let us know and we will get them made!
