This tea brought immediate aromas of the most delicious strawberry pie as soon as I placed the leaves in my warmed gaiwan! 35% oxidation and smooth, this machine/handpicked spring tea is a fresh treat! I was not expecting such a lasting impression! This proves that 'scented' teas when done right can be both powerful and mellow at the same time!
Somehow this wasn't as floral as I was expected, and it just didn't hit any spectacular spots for me. It's a very good quality tea and I think it would make a great daily drinker for others, but I just didn't find myself ever reaching for it.
This is a fabulous tea by itself, but I discovered that it takes even better when brewed 50:50 with the Pear Mountain Oolong. The combination is outworldly. Give it a try :)
Light but substantial. I even accidentally oversteeped it and it still tasted delicate (and not bitter), which is an indication of quality. I expect nothing less from Mountain Stream Teas, though. 10/10 fantastic tea.
You warm up your tea vessels. You pour in the leaves and catch a first whiff of the aroma. The first sip. Suddenly you're at the beach with your beautiful and diverse group of friends, running towards the ocean, laughing and living in the moment. See those waves? Let's go surfing! Cut to the gang riding jet skis, chasing each other through the waves. Did I say surfing? Doesn't matter, we're having fun! Falling from a banana boat, swimming back towards the shore, squinting and covering your eyes from the sun, laughing. Time-lapse of a beautiful sunset. Sitting around a camp fire, animated chatter all around. Fade to black while the camera zooms out. Fade-in: "Gardenia Oolong - life filled to the brim". Music fade-out. Fin.
