Chi Lai Mountain Oolong
(Spring 2023)
**We had a little amount of this tea left over from our 6 Mountains Set so thought we would offer it up at a bit of a discount!**
The High Mountains of Taiwan have many growing regions and this one is relatively new. Perched on the west facing side of the Chi Lai Mountain Range, this terroir is slightly different than its other high mountain oolong cousins. Stronger and thicker on the palate than many other terroirs with a noticeably sweet/sour tartness to the fruit flavor of the mid mouth, it is a fun variant in the Taiwanese high mountain oolong flavor palate.
While grown conventionally, this tea has passed the Taiwanese Government's 'Safety Tests' for many years and is a good example of relatively clean, conventionally grown tea for the Taiwanese domestic market. If you are interested in trying conventionally grown high mountain oolong with taste points designed for the domestic market this is a great one!
