1996 Muzha Tieguanyin

While visiting the same garden as that produced our Dragon's Eye Charcoal Tieguanyin asked if there were any aged teas to try. We were given this gem of a tea and bought everything they had left. We debated even offering this tea for sale as there is only about 1kg left of this tea left in existence. We decided to because it is just too good not to share. It won't last long though.

Matt describes this tea as 'getting a coconut oil back massage in an old library' and we can roll with that. The 'must' of age quickly give way to an incense-like smoke and coconut smoothness that makes this tea so unique. It is a real gem, and one that we will be sad to see gone, but happy that we could share.

Very Interesting

A quite interesting taste. Smooth and slightly sweet with interesting just strong enough sour (fruit?) flavour. Defenitly worth a try.

Its so hard to find aged teas that have maintained such well balanced flavours. This tea has a deep, old library aroma and complex sour sweetness. Definitely one that has succumb to time in the best ways possible.

The smell of old books and tobacco giving way to a coconut sweet flavor. A must try if you're into aged teas!
