Over time I started to eliminate pieces of teaware and accessories from my daily tea set so I have to wash less stuff at the end and it is easy to carry around from room to room. I went through multiple cups for every day use and nothing seemed right. This cup is the only one that was perfect in a sense of being comfortable to hold, easy to grip, capacity, being sturdy yet not heavy, pretty and elegant. It matches the volume of my gaiwan exactly so I did not need anything else to enjoy my tea every day. I have used it for over a year now and I am really happy with it. Ordered a second one.
Over the years, I have aquired a small but fine collection of teaware and I love every piece dearly. This cup however is my absolute favourite and my most treasured piece ever since unwrapping the package. The size is perfect. It has an elegant, slim base, yet is surprisingly hard to tip over (I have a nosey and slightly clumsy cat with strong opinions about my placement of teaware during a tasting session).
But what I want to praise the most is how stunningly made this teacup is. Words really don't do it justice. I do believe, that it is even more gorgeous in person and my only regret is, that I did not purchase more :)
Exceptional! These cups have become a staple in my tea drinking experience. They compliment the Hualien clay teapot I bought earlier this year perfectly!
