As the younger generation of Tea Masters take up the reigns as the leaders of the tea industry in Taiwan, few are as skilled and focused as our new friend CY Chen. This is the first of many teas that we are excited to be able to begin sharing with you.

Made with the uniquely Taiwanese Wuyi Oolong cultivar, this tea is masterfully roasted over Longan Charcoal to bring out some of the familiar flavors of the Dong Ding area with a twist. Warm roast, complex red fruit caramels, and a fun hint of the greenish florals so unique to the Wuyi cultivar makes this easy to brew and relatively affordable charcoal roasted tea a great introduction to the skills and potenial of our Master Roaster friend Mr. Chen. 

While waiting for the winter picked teas to get properly roasted we were happy to snag the last of the 2024 Spring Harvest. We look forward to having more of these teas soon!

**We usually offer our teas in many sizes but as we received the last couple kilograms of this tea available it was already beautifully packaged at the source. We thought it easiest, and most aesthetically pleasing, to just use the original packaging which comes in 75g bags.

Recommend Brewing Style:

Gong Fu Style: 3-5g per 100ml, ~100C water, 30, 45, 60 then add 5-10 seconds steeps in gaiwan. Lasts 4-5 steeps.

Western Style: 3g per 100ml, ~100c water for 2 minutes. Lasts 2-3 steeps. Very suited to western style brewing!
