Organic Three Shades of Ba Xian Oolong

**The 2024 version of this tea is more on the oolong side of things and the strong Guava notes are a fun unique flavor that is hard to get in Taiwanese tea!**

Somewhere between a green, white, and oolong, this soft and forgiving tea is a lot of fun for those that like to experiment with brewing parameters. The unique half white/half oolong processing of this tea gives the first steeps give up a fresh grass note before moving to a subtle sweet white tea style of flavor before becoming full on rich yellow fruit floral as the steeps progress. And progress they do! Due to the unique processing, this tea keeps brewing for many, many steeps!

Rarely grown in Taiwan, Ba Xian(Eight Immortals) cultivar is a fun departure from the regular Taiwanese cultivars. Creamy, sweet floral and and very 'yellow' this tea gives a unique twist to the classic Chinese cultivar!

Sugary Sweet

This tea produces some of the best 'sugary sweet' notes I've ever experienced in an oolong. I will most definitely have to get more of this!

A good one

Up there with Old Master Dong Ding I think. Only ordered 10g to try first, so I’m gonna need to buy some more next time.

Wait for it!!

This tea delivers some really wonderful vegetal notes a few seconds in, so, don’t let the wait fool you.

SO interesting. Smooth and creamy

Certainly one of the most unique tea’s I’ve ever tried. Notes of yellow squash, stonefruit, with a touch of fresh grass. Not a grassy/vegetal upfront taste, though. Absolutely worth trying.

A toothsome tea!

This is a special tea that would be hard to find anywhere else. The first time I tried it, it just had a "mellow" taste, but then I came back to it to try another brew, and wow! I was surprised with a beautiful and unique bouquet of white-yellow floral-vegetal aroma.

This tea makes me want to grab it and scarf it down like a super-tasty feast. But you have to savor this delicious flavor, too! The heartiness of it reminds me of a broth, but it's not so much savory as it is very umami. The description is accurate with the flavor notes. It reminds me of yellow squash, but if yellow squash tasted good...well, to me, anyways.

Also, as with all the teas on this site, you can truly taste the freshness and heart that is totally missing in conventional or even mass-market "organic" teas. These teas have a quality that I can only describe as "scrumptious." If you have ever gotten fresh produce from the farmer's market or someone's backyard instead of from the grocery store, you will know what I am talking about. The difference is truly surprising, and once you start drinking such delicious teas, it is hard to go back. And of course, these are the freshest-tasting teas I have found.

So I do recommend this scrumptious tea! I hope that they will make more, or at least that there will be some left next time I order.
