Dark Flower GABA 

From our friends in Mingjian that keep experimenting and creating beautiful organic teas, this is the first 4 Seasons Cultivar GABA we have ever tried and we were happily impressed! 

Having a similar taste profile to our popular Dark Flower Oolong, namely a rich, smooth 'dark ripe red floral', this tea adds a sweet raisin GABA twist. If you are a fan of the GABA genre, or the now sold out Dark Flower Oolong from Jade Mountain, this is  a tea you will be sure to enjoy!

Method: Machine picked, processed on site, small batch

Oxidization: GABA Processing

Region: Mingjian, Nantou

Recommend Brewing Style:

Gong Fu Style: 3-5g per 100ml, ~100C water, 30, 45, 60 then add 5-10 seconds steeps in gaiwan. Lasts 5-6 steeps.

Western Style: 3g per 100ml, ~100c water for 1 minute. Lasts 2-3 steeps

The best of MST Gabas

I like the Alishan Gaba but this one is more subtil. From the first one I get a slight throat irritation. Not such a thing with the Dark Flower Gaba, that seems cleaner. The gaba touch is there, but more gentle. Very relaxing tea.

Solid Gaba

A very pleasant brew. Notes of raisins, spice, leather and banana peel. On later steeps it develops a note that reminds me of the smell of linseed oil, the kind used for oil painting. Not as bright and aromatic as the Alishan Gaba offered on this site, but I find the calming effect stronger with this tea. A nice daily drinker.
