'B' Grade Charcoal Roast 4 Seasons
This one is a bit of an experiment for us. It is the cheapest tea we have ever had on the site by a large margin. Why is it so cheap? For three main reasons:
- B Grade Material - It is mostly small leaves and stems
- Cultivar - 4 Seasons is undeniably the most inexpensive Taiwanese cultivar to buy
- Area - This tea was grown in Mingjian, one of the most cheapest areas in Taiwan to grow tea
So why is it on the site? Well, it actually tastes OK! Especially for the price point. This lower quality material has been expertly charcoal roasted to create a tea with a strong charcoal upfront, and a decently complex fruity Tieguanyin style aftertaste.
Overall, this one is a great value for a daily drinker if you like this style of tea or want to use it in a restaurant style setting. And if you do try it, please let us know what you think!
