The Mayor's Alishan Milk Oolong
**This year's batch is wonderful! We are releasing the lightly roasted version first as we roast some of the remaining tea for a later release.**
This wonderful tea was found following a series of minor misfortunes, missteps, and screaming matches on a recent sourcing trip. Through a circuitous series of events, we finally wound up on the front step of the former Mayor of this region at 6pm as the sun was going down. We were offered this tea, followed by an amazingly simple supper. It made the day all worth it, and we look forward to working closely with this farm over the coming years.
Rich soft vegetal, buttery sweet and fruity, this tea is a great example of what agrochemical-free agriculture can do for a tea grown in a great region. It is the best example of 'Alishan Milk Oolong' that we have found. It is round and complex, with a lingering sweet touch-of-vanilla aftertaste that can't be beat at this price point. A great example of the Alishan terroir!
