I am a tea snob and I love this oolong. I also bought the big leaf oolong and I’d say the big leaf has more of a floral aftertaste - which I like. Both are excellent teas. I’ll be back for more soon.
A lot of ripe fruit notes but balanced with a creamy mouthfeel. The best of both oolong worlds.
I really loved the pear mountain from 2018, so I was curious to try out the 2019 spring pear mountain. You can tell that this tea is from a different farm than last year, but not in a bad way. The tea balls are a little bit more loosely pressed than the usual high mountain Oolongs you usually see. The picking is amazing. Big whole leaves and the classic "Oolong pick" with mostly 3-4 leaves. The upfront taste of this tea on the first steep has a stong vegetal taste with lots of sweetness. I like to brew the tea very hot for a very long time, then you really get those Deep, sweet notes that linger in your mouth. If you love Oolong, this is a must try.
This year's Pear Mountain oolong is fantastic. Buttery smooth floral and fruity. Has a wonderful sweet fragrance straight in the bag. Steeps well for me for at least 6 steeps still giving great tea. Highly recommend if you like high mountain tea and greener oolongs. For me this is one of my go to favorites
This is like drinking in the crisp mountain air that I would imagine this tea was grown in. It is a stunningly beautiful tea with bursts of floral sweetness that lingers on the palette!
