Northern Wild White
Camellia Formosensis White Tea
Seed propagated, forest grown, certified organic and a great example of indigenous Taiwanese tea, this white tea is great. Similar to our wild south-western camellia formosensis cakes, it is sweet, earthy and rich. The northern-growth cultivar seems to have a little more of the sweet, fresh, dry fall leaf-litter feel to it and the smooth nature of this tea makes it a pleasant, soft brew. Until we get our wild cultivar white cakes back in stock this is a good one to have on the shelf!
Keep in mind that this spring's pick was a little tender so there are a few more broken leaves than our usual white teas. The taste is unaffected however!
