Ilan Wuyi Oolong
**The 2025 Winter was a cold one and perfect growing conditions for this area. The 2025 Wuyi is a floral treat!
The Taiwanese Wuyi Cultivar is having a bit of a renaissance here in Taiwan recently and for good reason. It is versatile, delicious, and when produced by master hands it has some the best 'aftertaste' of any cultivar in Taiwan.
Starting with a rich vegetal upfront, the strong greenish floral of this affordable oolong is long lasting, smooth and memorable. Very easy to brew, it is perfect for the office or for times when attention to your brewing parameters might be a little tough. Using the Gongfu Method, however, rewards the brewer with some fun flavors to play around with depending on timing!
This great tasting tea and its cousin, Buttermilk Oolong, are some of the best value teas on the site right now for one main reason. The Ilan area is not 'famous' so the 'terroir premium' is at a minimum. We know for a fact that many resellers buy tea in this area and sell it at a premium in 'Alishan' or 'Shanlinxi' labelled bags. Lying is not our style, so we are happy to be able to offer this tea at its authentic, great value price!
