Acacia Charcoal-Roast Oolong

Finally, finally an affordable charcoal-roasted oolong. This Jinxuan (Milk Oolong) Cultivar tea is hand picked and expertly roasted in a place not famous for tea. That might change soon. Roasted upfront with a thick buttery mid-mouth, this tea finishes sweet with fruit and just a hint of fragrant smoke in the aftertaste. After finding this tea it has been a staple around around the MST office as an easy-to-brew 'grandpa style' friendly tea that can be drunk all day. Just throw some in a mug, keep adding hot water and drink all day!

wow. this tea is fantastic, it rides the line between that green style oolong that I don't care for at all, and more heavily roasted oolongs which is what I drink most of the time. it is full bodied and round, yet bright and juicy. this tea is blowing me away.

Great flavor combination

This was one of the samples that was kindly included in my order. Thank you! I am not well versed in oolong, let alone a roasted one. Steeped for 2 minutes, western style. It has a forward roast smell so I expected it to taste very smoky, but when you drink it, you get a slight fruity and creamy taste with just a hint of smoke just as described. Enjoyed drinking this beautiful tea and would recommend.

Great roasted tea

Man, what a tea.
Unlike most Milk oolongs the milkly flavor lasts for many steeps and doesn't all hit you up front.
You get a nice creamy green oolong flavor with a bunch of sweetness and a hint of roast flavor. I don't get any florals here, just sweet and a little fruity. Feels strange to call this a daily drinker, because its a far higher level of quality.
I found this tea benefits hugely from being brewed in clay. In porcelain you get a bit of a Smokey edge. That flavor is much more pleasant in clay.

Sweet, Creamy, and Robust

This is the first roasted oolong I've tried, and I really like it! Matt was kind enough to send a couple sessions' worth as a sample along with an order and I'm so glad he did. This tea has a very sweet upfront taste and a scent that reminds me almost of toasted marshmallows. The milk oolong cultivar is a popular favorite for good reason as well, and this tea has that characteristic very creamy full body. It isn't a subtle flavor by any means, and it really fills up the mouth and nose with the great smell. A welcome departure from my typical greener oolongs :)
