Pre-Qingming 4 Seasons Oolong

We had a hard time naming this softly floral tea when a sample of it arrived, unexpected, to our shop in early March. The Snow Picked teas had already been harvested and it was too early for Spring Tea, so we were rather confused as to what this green oolong was all about.

What we had received was an extremely rare Spring/Snow hybrid tea that every few years has the right weather conditions in Mingjian to get picked in early March. A unique 'Pre-Qingming Festival' Oolong!

Full of the rich soft vegetals of spring, this oolong is brimming with the softness of spring making this tea a favorite in the warehouse for Grandpa or Western Style brewing.  If you are a fan of green oolongs and the 4 Season Cultivar then this great priced tea is not be missed!

Can’t go wrong

As for flavor: A very balanced tea that has every quality you could want in a light oolong, with the trade off that comes with being a jack of all trades, i.e., not standing out for any one quality. Overall a dependably delightful cup.

But the thing that makes this tea really special is that it is almost impossible to brew it wrong. I love thoughtfully experiencing each steep of a quality tea. But I also like to grab something easy during work and forget about half the time forget that I left it sitting grandpa style for a half an hour. And even then, it only starts to get a little bitter, which goes away when I add more water.

So while I don’t think this would stand out in a blind taste test, in regular life it outperforms most of my teas that are perpetually being saved for another day. Feels right to drink it in the morning or afternoon or when it’s dark and cold or hot and sunny. And it’s better than any oolong that you’ll find at a store that isn’t as specialized as Mountain Stream.

(Truth is I put off writing this review for months because I didn’t want it to sell out.)

Great value

This one is an easy-going, light four seasons cultivar with a pleasurable floral, sweetness, and texture.
Flavour-wise, there's nothing really special about it. but it's still far superior to those in tea bags.
On top of that, this tea can be brewed multiple times, maybe up to 7 times without exuding negative tastes.

I'm very surprised that I can get this quality for this low price.
