The Mayor's Alishan Oolong
This wonderful tea was found following a series of minor misfortunes, missteps, and screaming matches on a recent sourcing trip. Through a circuitous series of events, we finally wound up on the front step of the former Mayor of the region at 6pm as the sun was going down and were offered this tea, followed by an amazingly simple supper. It made the day all worth it, and we look forward to working closely with this farm over the coming years.
Strong, sweet and fruity this tea is a great example of what agrochemical-free agriculture can do for a tea grown in a great region. It is round and complex, with a lingering sweet aftertaste that can't be beat at this price point. A great example of the Alishan terroir!
