Chilai High Mountain Black

**The 2024 version of this tea was legendary, and the 2025 version is great but not quite as good(~95%). The 2025 pick has all the same flavors as 2024 but the malty dark flavors are more dominant compared to last year. Teas of this caliber are never the same twice. As always, it is best to try some before ordering large amounts!**

This tea is a special one. Grown at 1600m in the Chilai Mountain region, from the moment you open the bag, you know that this tea is different. The candy-sweet red fruit flavors that this tea offers are only possible with highly oxidized high mountain tea leaves from this terroir. This year's production is great. It is an unforgettable tea!

Many people consider this one of the best black teas they have ever had. We are counted among them.

Sunday morning tea

I’ll avoid absolutes and say this is in my top 10 from MST. I like dark Oolongs and black teas. This is so smooth with little astringency and no bitterness. First western infusion is 195°F for 2 minutes. Afterwards I go 205°F for 3 minutes. I get why this tea is so popular here.

Only black tea I absolutely love

Oolong fan here. Tried this as a sample I believe - wasn't sold on the first time - tried again a month or so later and fell in love. Not sure what changed, but I've ordered several times since, and its become one of my favorite teas, ever.

Has a wonderful cherry taste. Its just so smooth. I could drink this every morning, if it were a bit cheaper.
If you haven't tried this tea yet, even if you aren't a fan of blacks, definitely give it a try.

Household staple

This is probably one of my favorite black teas. It's light and fruity, always a treat in the mornings. I will caution you: it is very easy to oversteep this tea so be careful. I brew this western-style, 3g @ 2m30s and it turns out perfect.

Highly recommend.

Instant hit .....reorder

A really good tea for me ... exactly my kind of tea ... depth , feel and aftertaste keeps going and long brew at the end overnite is spot on.
