Drinking this Spring Pear Mountain (Lishan) Oolong 2026 directly after the Phoenix Valley Shanlinxi Oolong 2026, the difference is striking. The Lishan stands out for its elegance and smoothness, with a lovely buttery character in both flavour and texture. Its candy-like sweetness is especially noticeable in comparison—almost reminiscent of gummy bears.

At least today, I slightly prefer the Shanlinxi for its complexity and power. Still, the exceptional quality of this Lishan is obvious from the very first sip.

One of the best Oolongs I've ever had

This tea is delicious! I get buttered popcorn notes in addition to the notes listed in the description. I used 6g/100ml in a gaiwan and got 5 tasty infusions.

This Li Shan is excellent. It has a rich and satisfying aroma accompanied by a sweet, beautiful long-lasting aftertaste. Immaculate picking standard as well. It is great brewed both Gong Fu style or grandpa style. However, after some experimentation I’ve found bowl brewing to produce the best results. I used about 4.5g tea in approximately 150ml of 99c H2O, steeped for 5 minutes. This will yield 3 very good infusions. This method, more than any other, brings out the buttery sweetness that Li Shan is so famous for. Also, the price is extremely good for the quality. I’ve tasted LiShan double the price that wasn’t as good. I’m glad I ordered 250g before it sold out. Hopefully I can make it last until next spring.
