Honey Black Oolong

A real treat for those that love Red Oolongs and Honey Fragrance Black tea, this hybrid of the two genres is full of honey, rose and dark oolong goodness. Relatively rare, this type of tea can only be made at just the right time of the deep winter in the south of Taiwan when the bugs wake up a little but before the hot weather arrives to change the taste of the tea leaves to the woody strength of the warmer months.

We haven't had this tea for on the site a long while and we are happy to have it back. There are more than a few wonderful tea people that are sure to share our happiness about its return as well!

**Like all our teas, there are no added flavors, colors or chemicals in this tea. All flavors are completely natural and chemical-free!**

Not getting the honey notes

I don't know if it was my water (I live in a hard water area), but for some reason I wasn't getting any honey notes. I tried brewing it at a lower water temp (90 C) and also waiting for a shorter time, but no dice. I did taste the malty notes, though, and it's pretty forgiving, so long are you're not me and accidentally leave it steeping for about an hour. Maybe the Honey Black Fragrance will be more my speed?

Simply scrumptious!

Hard to believe something could be this naturally delicious, but believe I must. A deep, smooth sweetness with some nice black tea undertones. You can't go wrong with this one!

Excellent!

Not good with being overly wordy on teas - but this is the most delightful tea I’ve ever had. Well balanced and comforting - deep but light at the same time.

You can’t brew it wrong!

This is a delicious oxidized oolong that never turns bitter or astringent. It is yummy brewed western or gong fu style, longer steeps or shorter steeps, higher temperatures or lower temperatures. Forgotten brew? No problem. Started a tea session hours ago and never finished it? Boil up some water, your leaves are good to go. Interestingly, I find later brews remind me of darker gaba teas, without the sometimes metallic aftertaste that gabas can have. Great value, especially considering its price point.

So Enjoyable. Subtle honey flavor.

I was loving this one and drinking it with my son. We both enjoyed the very subtle honey flavor.
Sometimes I taste more honey, and I love those infusions. Really a great find, a truly special tea
that I greatly enjoyed. I really don't always enjoy many teas, but I enjoyed this one.
