BONUS — Polished Jade Aged Oolong
The first release of one of our ‘Storage Wars’ teas, a light oxidized Jade Oolong from the early 2010s, this tea has so many flavors it is hard to describe! Fruit, floral, ‘age’, spice and more can be enjoyed with this one, all with a complexity that we have never experienced. Teas like this are almost never aged. Remember to try a couple different temperatures and brewing parameters. Each time is different!
The Teas
Unless you are totally new to our teas, there are sure to be a few familiar teas in this month’s box.
1. Old Master Dongding: Once again, the most classic Mountain Stream Tea makes the list as the most popular tea of the year. And for good reason, but you probable already know that!
2. Alishan GABA: This tea has become the 'classic' GABA for us and many others. This year's spring pick is beautiful as usual.
3. Buttermilk Oolong: The quintessential daily drinker that has helped so many in offices all over the world get work done.
4. Snow Pick Pear Mountain: Many of our most popular teas come from this garden. This year we included the most recent Snow Pick, a very special and unique tea.
5. Alpine Honey Red: A new addition to the list this year, it is the most sweet/floral red oolong we have added in a long time. We hope next year’s tea is just as good!
A Physical Home Base For Mountain Stream Teas Is Almost Here
At the time of writing, we are looking to open a wood and stone tea shop here in Hualien for Mountain Stream teas sometime in the next couple of weeks. Look to our socials for more details as we get up and running and sharing tea in person.
The ‘Storage Wars’ Tea Shop Collection
Recently, we were invited to purchase an entire tea shop that had been sitting in stasis for over 10 years. We jumped at the opportunity and have spent the last month cataloging and preparing the teas, tea ware, and equipment for release. While we still aren’t fully ready to release the teas, we were ready to start sharing some with our subscribers. Keep an eye out for some of these amazing and absolutely unique aged teas in the coming months!
The March Box
The March box will be filled with some of the best black teas that Taiwan has to offer. It will be a real deep dive into the Taiwanese Black Tea genre.
