Shanlinxi Gui Fei Oolong
We have finally found a Bug Bitten Gui Fei (Concubine) Oolong for the site! This unique style of unroasted tea falls somewhere between the Red, Eastern Beauty and Dong Ding styles of Oolong with rich red floral notes, a hint of sweetness and the recognizable base of a Taiwanese Oolong. This one is from a new farm that was introduced to us by a Tea Master Friend at the recent 2023 Nantou Tea Expo. We look forward to visiting and supporting this family who is producing agrochemcial free teas up on the top of Shanlinxi!
**Most Gui Fei oolongs we have tried often have a rough, starchy note to them that we are not a fan of. Due to the higher elevation of this tea that note is missing, giving this version of the Gui Fei style a smoother brewing experience.
