One of the most expensive black teas we have ever had on the site, we just couldn't resist getting some to share. It is something special. A rich, tart, berry upfront changes quickly into a thickly sweet red fruit mid mouth before the undeniable black berry aftertaste shows itself, and lingers. It is a delicate and complex tea, a tea that wows in its complexity and uniqueness. Or, at least we think so! Made with the purple bud cultivar imported from China and grown in the mountains of Pinglin above Taipei by Buddhist Monks and Nuns, the 'purpleness' of this tea is undeniable. It certainly has some of the richness and complexity of a very good wine.
