With just enough age on it now, we have decided to release this rare and memorable tea. Made from the fall pick of the 2018 Pear Mountain season and roasted 4 times during the next year we acquired this tea in the summer of 2019 in a gambling mood. It wasn't anywhere near ready then. It is now.
Upfront notes of roast veggies quickly turn into a rich deep floral that lasts for a long time. Patience in brewing this tea brings out the biggest difference between upfront taste and aftertaste that we have ever tasted. The transition is dramatic and unforgettable, if you like that type of thing. It is a rare and different tea, one that doesn't fit into any label we have come across. While not for everyone, those that love roasted teas and high mountain oolong might just fall in love with this one!
We bought all they had back 2019, but it was only about 1500g. It was an experimental tea and there is no guarantee that there will be any more of it made. We will sell it while we have it though.
