**We only have access to 1kg of this beautiful tea. Usually sold out far in advance of production, we are only able to get a small amount each year!**
Made by an 70-year-old tea master in Pinglin, this rare and slightly sweet black tea is earthy, unpolished and true. Considered the father of organic farming in Taiwan, his garden has been chemical-free for many decades and the teas produced there can be sold out years in advance. This tea is a real treat and is a favorite among black tea drinkers for its strength, softness and depth. Great office tea as it stands up very, very well to western style brewing!

Recommend Brewing Style:
Gong Fu Style: 3-5g per 100ml, ~90C water, 30, 45, 60 then add 5-10 seconds steeps in gaiwan. Lasts 4-5 steeps.
Western Style: 3g per 100ml, ~100c water for 2 minutes. Lasts 2-3 steeps. Very suited to western style brewing!
I'm stuck in an office all day that isn't always conducive to gong fu style brewing. I needed a tea that could stand up well to Western style brewing. Lately, I've grown more fond of black teas, and this has become one of my top 3 go-to black teas. A worthwhile investment for a hand-crafted everyday drinker!

Came to order more and it was gone
I'm hesitant to write a review as it was my favorite tea from my first order and by the time I came to buy more it was gone.. hopefully the next batch will be bigger :)

Earthy, grounding, velvety sweetness
When I first tried this tea, I found it sweeter than I expected from the description. The tea has a pleasant, earthy depth and engaging complexity that comes out both in gongfu and Western style brewing. It is very grounding.

A Masterful Black Tea
An incredible black tea with a natural sugar cane sweetness that holds up well to long steep times. This tea is a delight no matter how you steep it. It is sooooo GOOD!
