From the same garden of our perennial favorite Dragon's Eye Charcoal Muzha Tieguanyin, this tea is a perfect example of the modern take on this classic tea. In the past, Muzha teas have often been roasted past the point of complexity to be simply 'burnt'. With more modern technology this 'burning' has become much less common and Muzha teas can be roasted to just the right amount of complexity. With the right tea master of course!
This tea is a great example of a Tieguanyin cultivar oolong prepared in the traditional way and expertly roasted to fully express the Tieguanyin cultivar's unique sweet/sour tang. Roasted and smooth with a complex fruit mid mouth, the grape notes in the aftertaste are a real treat!
This certified organic tea is produced on a small garden just outside of downtown Taipei, the Muzha Cable Car passes right over top of this farm. In future tea tours we will offer, this garden will be high on the list of places to visit!
