Master Class #1 - Same Garden, Same Master, Different days
Master Class #1
Sourcing the best Taiwanese tea is a tough job. Even if you find the best garden with the best master, the tea can be ruined if the weather doesn't cooperate. Nothing is guaranteed! This Master Class is a peak into that world. You will be able to see if you agreed with our choices!
This collection of tea gives you an idea of the process of making tea in high mountain areas. Each high mountain farm only has a 5-10 day window to produce their tea each season. During that time frame so many variables can change the quality of the finished tea. The weather of each day, the attitude of the pickers, the mood of the tea master, the small(and big) mistakes in processing and many more things impact the finished product. This set is a series of teas from our Pear Mountain producer from the 12th to the 25th of May during the spring harvest season of 2019. Included in this set:
25g of the May 12th Harvest -- A beautiful, subtle tea that we didn't buy much of
10g of the May 15th Harvest -- Another beautiful tea that was harmed by a big mistake during processing (Details in Information Packet)
25g of the May 25th Harvest -- The tea that became our 'Spring 2019 Pear Mountain Oolong'
With this series of tea you will receive an information booklet with details about each tea, tasting notes and information from our perspective on why we did or didn't buy this tea. There will also be an educational guided tasting Youtube video that you can watch in tandem as you sample the teas.
**The Master Class series is designed to develop your palate and experience beyond the average tea taster. They are a challenge, and not something for beginners. The differences between the teas are often subtle but we strive to explain how and why the teas are different and what the impact of those differences are on price, quality and enjoyment.
