Perhaps one of the 'best bang for your buck' teas on the site right now, this spring picked Alishan is a great example of a 'classic' high mountain oolong. Slight vegetal upfront, buttery mouthfeel and a smooth sweet floral aftertaste the only drawback to the tea is that you might have to add an extra gram or two per serving as this year's spring pick in the Alishan area did not produce the strongest tea. For the price though, it is a great daily drinker!
While this garden uses conventional farming practices, it is not by choice. Surrounded on all side by conventional tea gardens this farmer does not have much chance of ever getting this garden certified organic. He limits the use of agrochemicals in this garden drastically, however, and has gardens in other areas that are fully regenerative.
