Ever wonder what a Dong Ding Oolong tastes like before the roasting process? Well this tea is your chance to know! Floral, fruity and smooth it is an example of the locally grown tea before it gets expertly roasted into the more familiar tastes of Dong Ding Oolong fame. This tea is from the same winter harvest as the Heavy Roast and Mid-Roast Traditional Dong Ding Oolongs. Can you taste the similarities?
Interestingly, it is a solid tea but it does not have the 'wow' factor of many other high mountain growing regions. This is one of the reasons why roasting became so popular in the Dong Ding region. The roasting adds the unique and memorable flavor that has made this style of tea famous the world over!
The Dong Ding area is steeped in tradition and has rather rigid agricultural practices. We have looked for years for an agrochemical-free grown authentic Dong Ding Oolong but haven't found one. Yet. This tea is conventionally grown and we have chosen to include it here for its authenticity. For more information, see here.
