Snow Mist Organic Tea Estate

A tea garden like no other, Snow Mist Organic Tea Estate has consistently produced some of the best Taiwanese tea we have ever tasted. We are always excited when our small yearly allotment of tea is ready.

Snow Mist has all the characteristics that we long for in tea production. Low impact agrochemical free agriculture, high quality care of the plants following permaculture principles, pristine environment, mentoring programs for other younger tea makers, pride in their work and tea, happy prosperous workers and on and on. The videos and pictures that are available on our Instagram feed of this area speak for themselves.

The 2021 production season was a great one weather wise and Matt was honored to spend three days helping with the tea making process on the mountain. This year's teas are better than average, and we are proud to be sharing them with you.

In partnership with this farm we receive a small allotment of tea each year. With full transparency we sell these rare teas into the western market at a cost lower than the domestic market prices. In supporting this garden and giving western tea lovers access to these teas we hope that we can lift the general expectations and understanding of high quality, organic tea outside of Asia. This tea is expensive, but we believe it is worth every penny.

I bought it again and came back for more

Really a divine trio of teas. The scent and flavors are outstanding. I do not say this often but really some of the best teas I have had recently. I know at this time it is sold out, but next year I hope to see it again and if I do, you better hurry and buy some because I will be buying a lot more :-)

The White

This is a lovely white tea, though the first steep tastes like pea soup. Not my thing, so I tend to pour it out. But from the second steep, all traces of pea soup are gone and replaced by delightful crisp, bright, white florals. The tea also lasts through more steeps than I expected, and is equally delicious when brewed cold.

These two teas are superb examples of high quality Taiwanese teas! Soft, non astringent, and absolutely delicious! These really showcase the flavor of the qinxin cultivar. My first sip of the white brought a slight calmness and instantly reminded me of another tea I've recently had. The cultivar flavor was familiar as I believe the Eastern Beauty is also the qinxin. Though there's not the bug bitten honey sweetness and granite minerality, there is a similar calming sensation. I highly recommend trying these!

The Black One

This is a wonderful tea, one of the best I've had from MST. The leaves are very fine with many tiny buds. The liquor is very thick, soft and smooth with no trace of roughness or harshness and goes down so easily leaving the whole mouth with a nice thick oily coating. The flavours are pleasant - like malty sweet butter, not intense or overpowering with long lasting plant sweet aftertaste and the aroma is intensely sweet and floral. Qi is light, pure and clean becoming brighter, calm and easy. The tea makes a nice morning gong fu session or in the afternoon. From the website it sounds what the farm is doing and what MS are doing to support them is great and certainly the leaves imbibe all this integrity and positive action. Certainly look forward to trying more from this wonderful farm.
