Phoenix Valley Shanlinxi Oolong

**Fresh 2023 Spring Pick in stock! This vintage is comparable to last year's stellar tea and a great one to try for those that love this terroir.**

Thick, sweet and full flavored, this fresh spring tea is the perfect example of why teas from Shanlinxi are so sought after in the local Taiwanese market. So much so that teas from this area often don't make it off the island!

Rich vegetal, soft pale florals and a luxuriously thick mouthfeel greet those lucky enough to try this tea. It also has that signature 'oceanic' feel that this area is so well known for. This tea was grown in the Long Feng Xia area of Shanlinxi, right in the heart of the best growing area.

While not certified organic, this tea is grown in a garden that has tested free from agrochemicals for two years running. Shanlinxi is one of the hardest places in Taiwan for an agrochemical-free tea lover to find something to drink. Farmers in the area usually try to super size their yields using copious amounts of agrochemicals and we have been searching for a clean and affordable source of Shanlinxi tea for years.

We lucked out in finding this producer at the 2020 Tea Expo and we look forward to growing our relationship with this new partner farm. Finding clean Shanlinxi tea at this quality and price point is almost unheard of and we are so happy to finally have some of the tea from this area back on the site.

This is a great tea that will satisfy everyone, especially those who enjoy Taiwanese oolongs. The flavor is robust and complex but also clean.

Refreshing aromatic tea

Thick mouthfeel, soft florals with vegetal, and aromatic. A great example of the wonders of springtime flavor.

Great mouthfeel and vegetal

The description is dead on with this one. With the first steep, there are a lot of vegetables on the nose and palate. Very smooth mouthfeel. Second steep is less overwhelming on the vegetal notes and more pleasant all around. There are some fairly large stems I noticed in this one. That said, I believe I prefer this Qinxin a little bit over Old Master Dong Ding just due to the lack of roast on the Shanlinxi.

One of the best oolongs I've tried

This is my first tea review. This tea is so tasty, I had to let it be known. I've drank dozens of other oolongs, all tasty, but this one is like BLAM! :)
