This is a rare treat. On a recent sourcing trip to Muzha we came across a winter picked Baozhong with a twist. Muzha is famous for its oolongs that are higher oxidized and then roasted. While this tea is not roasted, it has a much higher oxidization than other Baozhongs.
Most teas of this type are oxidized in the 5-10% range while this one is pushing 30% giving it a range of flavors not found in any other Baozhong we have tried. Made with the traditional Qinxin cultivar, the grassy sweet upfront gives way to a fun fruity creaminess that other teas processed this way are lacking. An overall smooth and easy drinking tea, the higher oxidization gives it twist that has made it favorite in the Mountain Stream Teas warehouse!
