This tea yields a very nice sweetness from steep to steep due to the osmanthus flower scent. It becomes an almost peachy like sweetness. Very, very delicious!
It's been a long time since I had a good osmanthus scented tea. Most often osmanthus is paired with a black tea or a tightly rolled oolong. This though is very different from the usual pairings, what you get with the Baozhong base and I suspect especially the Jin Xuan cultivar, is a lovely creamy osmanthus oolong, the pairing is just exquisite. What amazes me is the osmanthus is retained through the brews, truly the technique of how this tea is blended has created a sublime creation. I am definitely stocking up on this one.
