Old Master Baozhong

2021 marks the 51st year in a row that our friend and his family have made this same tea from this same soil. 2021’s pick is no different than any of the many years that we have been lucky enough to drink this legendary Baozhong. It is a spectacular mix of fresh grass, buttery floral and lingering sweet peach. There is a good reason that ‘connections’ are the only way to get this tea.

Made by Wang You Li, one of our favorite tea masters in Pinglin, this BaoZhong is deep, rich, sweet and full. Processed in the old style with all the perfections and imperfections intact, this is a connoisseur's tea. This year, we were only able to get 1200g due to the young nature of some of the tea trees and the fact that the limited production run of this amazing tea is requested by many so it is rationed. We are proud every year to be able to share with people outside of Taiwan!

**This tea is produced in very small amounts and is released to the email list first. This year's tea will be released on Sunday May 16th 2021 at 11am EST. Please no more than three per person so more people can try some of this wonderful tea. **

This tea is really, really good. It has a wonderful vegetal sweetness backed by a buttery smooth body. I also love the astringency this tea has. It holds up to many brews too. Look out for this tea whenever it's available, and support the small-scale Old Master behind it!

'Master' for a reason!

Ah, I accidentally submitted review before I was finished. What I was saying is that I clearly understand now why the man behind the production of this tea is known as 'Old Master'. A Master he is!! This tea is the best Baozhong I've tasted!
