Wild Garden GABA Oolong

**The 2018 version of this tea has just been released and we are happy to stock it again! One of the more controversial teas that we have ever sold, this tea has become a bit of an enigma. Some people agree with the taste of raisins and stewed fruit while others have tasted plain potato or mint. We feel that the 2018 tea is even better than last year. Let the tea controversy continue and please let us know what you think! **

Most GABA teas are a little sour and ripe tasting after going through the unique oxygen free fermentation process. We have found one that isn't. Tasting of sweet, large black raisins this full bodied tea blew us away! Grow in the same wild garden as our Aged Heart White Tea, the sweetness of this tea is amazing. While the health effects of GABA tea are being studied we are happy to be in the early adopter group with this wonderfully tasting tea!

Complex and delicious

A special tea, with very different notes from start to finish. The leaves have a very sweet smell, kind of like a dessert wine, and the taste varies from sweet potato on the first steeping to sweet raisins and flowers on the following infusions. Frutal, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Also, thank you for the great customer service and the tea samples! I look foward to tasting them in the following days.

Wow

This one totally knocked my socks off. Went in not knowing what I was getting into and I couldn't believe what I was experiencing when the golden raisin deliciousness hit my mouth. Really looking forward to round 2 with this one.

Wonderful Cup of Gaba

Looking forward to the 2018, review is for the 2017 Gaba. Very enjoyable and different. Got raisins, white grapes, apricots, baking spice notes, with florals through the first three infusions. Then the change to a touch raw/baked nuttiness mixed with a grape peel / stem tartness, a pleasant change through the seventh infusion. Looking forward to the next session on this tea and the 2018 one.

Wild Garden GABA Oolong

Appearance: Bright copper colored liquor
Aroma: Dry leaf smells of freshly baked blueberry cheesecake and a lightly roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. Wet leaf smells of raisins accompanied by an aroma of intense ripe blueberries. It has a strong raisin aroma that permeates via retronasal olfaction all throughout the session.
Body: Medium
Mouthfeel: It has a mouthpuckering tartness coupled with intense juiciness.
Flavor Notes: It begins with intense notes of sweet raisins and tart blueberries. It has a soft toasted biscuit note at the end. By the 6th steep, the bright blueberry notes and the sweet dried raisin notes transform into fermented cascara notes.
Finish: It leaves a juicy blueberry note at the palate accompanied by soft toasted biscuits.
Comments: This tea blew my mind!!! It's so tasty! Aside from my tea addiction, I'm also into specialty coffee. And this tea really is very reminiscent of a Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. If you want to introduce a coffee geek to tea, this should be a great intro. On a totally different note, this tea made me sweat so much! Even with the AC going in on full blast.
