Having had several other aged teas, I can only give this 3 stars. I reccomend picking some up for for the educational aspect of learning more about aged teas. For me, this tea was very different from it's 70s counterpart. Yes it does have the aged sweetness but unfortunately it also has a distinct mustiness. Like a damp basement! I found the smell unpleasant. If brewed on the lighter side though I was able to pull out the sweetness with less of the mustiness in the taste. This is a great tea to compare with other aged teas so I highly recommend picking up a sample for the educational aspect.
I got hints of sweetness from this tea. This was, again, a tea I tried without my tasting notes, so I couldn't really say much with certainty. Like its 70s counterpart, it reminded me of an aged puerh, but has the sweet notes of a black tea, medium-body and thick in texture. This is a tea I have to have again and do a proper tasting of. But I would drink again!
