House Roast Mayor's Alishan Milk Oolong
This wonderful tea garden was found following a series of minor misfortunes, missteps, and screaming matches on a sourcing trip to the famous Alishan area a few years ago. We have been working closely with The Mayor since, and this spring we were happy to support them with a large purchase of their spring tea.
Since then, we have been working hard to roast this tea to perfection, in our minds at least. It is finally ready to be shared! Smooth, sweet and buttery with a touch of roast, this tea is slightly less roasted than its Mayor's Alishan sister tea giving it a thicker mouthfeel and sweeter aftertaste. For the price it is hard to beat this one for value!
This year we have experimented with the roasting of this tea to create two different roast levels -- Light and Medium
Light Roast -- Softer sweet, thicker, vegetal, touch of florals and softer fruit
Medium Roast -- Nutty, stronger roast toastiness, richer red fruit aftertaste, slight caramel sweet
They are both good and we will leave it to you which one you prefer. We hope that you enjoy them!
