Dark Flower Oolong

An amazing example of masterful tea production, this one confused us when we first tried it out. We couldn't figure out which cultivar it was! As an extremely rare 65% oxidized oolong with rich dark florals, sweet raisin/fruit/strawberry notes, its overall smoothness, taste and mouthfeel didn't fit with our experience of any familiar Taiwanese high mountain tea cultivars.

The problem was that we never expected a 4 Seasons Oolong to turn out this good! Rarely grown at such high altitudes, and even more rarely turned into a red oolong at this oxidization level, we were blown away by the skill with which this tea was produced. Rare material produced with rare skill, this one is sure to become the favorite of many!

From an organic producer in the up and coming Jade Mountain growing region, we are sure this tea will be the favorite of many. We are happy to be able to support organic producers in the region as well!

Interesting tea

This tea has an interesting flavour profile I've not come across much, which might be due to the unusually high oxidisation level for the four seasons cultivar, as noted in the product description. I found it was lighter in both body and flavour than I expected based on the oxidisation level, and therefore used a little more leaf, as it was a bit muted at 5g per 100ml
